Hello! We’re Dale and Emily from Lexington, Kentucky.

After every trip we take, Emily always seems to get at least a few people reaching out for travel recommendations, so we thought we would start this blog as a way to put all of those recommendations in one place. It’s also just fun for us to reminisce on our travels together, and an easy way for our families to follow along.
We are definitely not career travelers by any means – Emily works with heart and lung transplant patients as a registered dietitian, and Dale works with his dad building musculoskeletal health and wellness programs and management. Before this, he worked at a craft brewery for over 7 years running quality control – mainly the lab and sensory program. He is a Certified Cicerone (as a Sommelier is to wine, a Cicerone is to beer), and because of this, we’re always seeking out the best beer and wine experiences wherever we go. Dale found a love for travel growing up with many family vacations. On those trips, we would usually try to spend half the time in a city and the other half doing something a little more outdoorsy, which is a balance I still try to strike in our trips today. Emily had never been abroad before meeting Dale, but after our honeymoon to Portugal and Spain, was bit by the same bug.
Our blog will cover all our travels together, both at home and abroad, focusing mostly on food, drink, and the outdoors. To be honest, we’re not really museum people, we may touch on a few significant historical things when we go to a place, but we’re more interested in trying to live like the locals live, and eat and drink where they do. We love to hike, camp, kayak, and just generally be outside, so we’ll covering anything we do in that realm as well. We’ll also back fill as we go with all of the trips that Dale had taken before meeting Emily, so keep an eye out for many more posts to come!
